Dosage Makatussin comp

Duration of treatment without improvement and without consultation with a doctor: 5–7 days.

12 years: 15–20 (max. 30) drops 3–4 times daily, regardless of meals; dosing interval: min. 4 hours.

Dosage/Application Makatussin Comp

Adults and adolescents over 12 years: 15-20 drops 3-4 times daily (up to a maximum of 30 drops at a time).

The dosing interval between two doses should not be less than 4 hours.

The drops are best taken undiluted with a spoon, but they can also be taken with a little water or tea. Makatussin cough drops can be taken regardless of meals.

Hold the bottle or dropper tube vertically when counting drops.

1 g of drop solution corresponds to approximately 20 drops

Contraindication

Respiratory insufficiency, acute asthma, excessive bronchial secretion, fructose intolerance, diverticulitis, after visceral surgery; obstruction of the cardia, pylorus or duodenum; MAO inhibitor therapy, opioid dependence, ultra-rapid CYP2D6 metabolisers. Pregnancy, breastfeeding. <12 years.

Active ingredient: Codeini phosphas hemihydricus.

Glycerol, propylene glycol (E1520) 300 mg / 20 drops, sorbitol solution 70% (non-crystallizing) (E420) 286 mg / 20 drops, sodium chloride, liquorice root extract, saccharin sodium (E954).

20 drops contain 2.6 mg sodium.

1 g (equivalent to 20 drops) contains 13.6 mg Codeini phosphas hemihydricus (equivalent to 10.6 mg Codeinum monohydricum).

For the relief of coughs and cough irritation, especially dry coughs.
